Praying Part 3- Praying for our Communities Seven Prayers for our Communities

Philippians 4 6 2

Today is the third part in a four part series on prayer. We will be lifting up our communities in prayer. Next week, we will be praying for our world. Each day has a short prayer that you can pray for your community along with the Biblical reference. This is a list to get you started. Please add other requests that you have asked of God regarding community needs in the comments below so we can add to our list. Blessings to you as you pray on behalf of your corner of the world.

Monday

Mighty God, I pray that children grow academically and socially in a safe learning environment.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

Tuesday

God, I pray that church members would be burdened to pray for one another, their communities, and the world.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

Wednesday

Father, I pray for church programs that assist the youth, the elderly, the hungry, and needy. May the workers have strength to continue blessing those in need.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:37-38

Thursday

Lord, keep our communities safe, and may we be known for caring for one another. Thank you for the men and women who keep us safe.

Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 1 Thessalonians 5:15

Friday

Heavenly Father, bless the families in my community. May spouses love one another and children be cherished.

Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the Lord. Psalm 144:15

Saturday

Faithful Father, help us show the love of Jesus to our neighbors.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. 1 John 4:7-8

Sunday

Gracious God, I lift up the pastors in my community as they share the Good News with their congregations.

Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. Ephesians 6:19
