Praying Part 4- Praying for our World Seven Prayers for our World
Today is the final part in a four part series on prayer. We will be lifting up our world in prayer. Each day has a short prayer that you can pray for the world along with the Biblical reference. This is a list to get you started. Please add other requests that you have asked of God regarding the world in the comments below so we can add to our list.
Monday
O Father, please guide and direct our President, his advisors, the Congress, the Supreme Court, and other world leaders as they make decisions.
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Tuesday
I pray, O Lord, about the media and its influence on the world. May its influence be a positive impact on the world.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
Wednesday
Lord God, I lift up the Christian ministries around the world. May each continue to do your work, praying for your help and enjoying the blessings of serving you.
In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. John 16:23-24
Thursday
Lord, I pray for people who face war, poverty famine, persecution, and natural disasters. Meet their needs, O Lord. Tug at my heart when there is something I can do to help.
Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor will also cry out and not be answered. Proverbs 21:13
Friday
O Lord my God, thank you for our military men and women who fight against the wicked. Keep them safe as they work and fight to keep us safe.
The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion. Psalm 11:5
Saturday
God, I lift up Christians around the world. May they remember the greatest commandments and live them out.
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39
Sunday
Father God, I pray for the missionaries around the world. Encourage them in the ministry.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4
